E3 helped launch the School-to-Career Partnership in 2003 and although we no longer have an active day-to-day role, we are pleased to report there are strong relationships between schools and local employers and community members.
Bend-La Pine's School-to-Career Partnership is working together to help prepare its graduates by giving them community-based learning experiences - opportunities to make their lessons come alive in real-life settings. Studies prove that students do better when parents and other adults are involved in their schools. When students see that their education is relevant to their future, they are more engaged and successful.
Community Update
Through School-to-Career Partnership local employers are providing opportunities to bring "real-world relevance" to classroom education. The district's school-to-career program has been strengthened and expanded to all five high schools through a partnership with local businesses to provide a wide array of work-based learning experiences for hundreds of students, including internships, workplace tours, mock interviews and job shadows. Each student is expected to complete a personal education plan and participate in at least 16 hours of work-based learning experiences.
