Media Arts and Communications Academy (MACAcademy), a charter school focused on digital arts and communications, created an Employer Advisory Committee to more effectively access the support, expertise and counsel of community leaders. School leaders and employers work together to accomplish school goals and identify unique roles that employers can play to support students. MACAcademy has engaged its Employer Advisory Committee to help the school plan an internship program for its seniors. Employers have worked to raise awareness of the new school through presentations at community and business organizations. They've helped the school develop relationships with local employers and business organizations. Over the next few months, the group will help recruit employers to provide 30 internships next fall.
