Literacy Program Expands-
Portland, Corvallis and Hillsboro
Now employers and their employees in Portland, Hillsboro and Corvallis have an opportunity to work directly with middle school children in the Partnership for Student Success Literacy Partners reading mentorship program.
The program connects employer sponsored mentors with middle school students in the classroom. Mentors spend time reading with students and doing simple exercises to help boost student reading skills.

"Daily attendance increased on days when mentors volunteered in the classroom," said Tim Rocholz, principal of Kelly Middle School in Eugene, one of the first program sites. Students working with the volunteer mentors significantly improved their reading fluency and comprehension.
E3 is seeking employers in Portland, Hillsboro and Corvallis who are interested in participating in the program. If you would like to speak with someone about the middle school mentoring program contact info@e3oregon.org or call Paige at 503-595-7616.
